It's been a really busy but rewarding time since my last blog and yet again feeling really grateful for all the love and support of my music. Doing things independently, you go through quite a continued and long period of trial and error in terms of marketing and trying to get your music out to more people and gain interest and followers, especially when you don't have a large (or any) budget for it!
What's been interesting is the different viewpoints from people, as music is always so subjective. I've been researching playlists and blogs and seeing what's been played out there and it's been great talking to so many new people!
I had the wonderful opportunity of being invited to the Soulfulized show on East London Radio, courtesy of Fitz Andrew back in August and it was so much fun! I picked a series of songs that have meant a lot to me over the years, but also inspired my love of songs and writing. Listen HERE if you want to!
I also have had such support from everyone and a number of independent radio presenters have also been playing Squeeze (and Touch) on their shows. I had my second interview courtesy of Surrey Hills Radio and the lovely Nigel Thomas a few weeks back, but not still quite used to speaking about myself so much!
The second single, Touch, was released on 23rd August and it's already been featured on several independently curated spotify playlists. I've also had the pleasure of being featured on MusicOTFuture, so things are starting to feel quite scary real!
This week, BBC Introducing will be playing Squeeze twice! Jacqui Rushton will play it on her show on Wednesday 11th September between 7 and 9pm and it's the Introducing Track of the Day on Sarah Gorrell's Drivetime show on 12th September (airing roughly at 4.40pm) - not bad for my debut single!
